First Medical was founded in 1985 by Ed Gogerty and Jim Horton.  Both men had many years of knowledge and experience in the long-term care and pharmaceutical markets.

Initially, their product line included urologicals and retail pharmacy to oxygen and enteral products.  As the company grew, First Medical began to serve the physician office, surgery center, hospice and homecare markets as well. 

Today, First Medical is a healthcare supply company to thousands of medical offices located primarily in Iowa with additional customers located in the surrounding states.  First Medical’s business offices are located in Urbandale, Iowa, with a warehouse in Clive.  With a staff of 12, many of whom are family members, First Medical has the ability to provide uniquely personalized service, coupled with competitive pricing.
